Tessa Walker Obituary, Death – The community of Kansas City and the halls of Park Hill High School are filled with grief following the tragic loss of Tessa Walker, an 18-year-old senior whose life was cut short in a devastating car accident on March 22.
According to the Platte County Sheriff’s Office, Tessa was one of four passengers in a 2024 BMW M4 traveling southbound on Missouri 45 Highway near Farley in rural Platte County. The vehicle, driven by an 18-year-old from Riverside, left the roadway south of North Main Street, overturned, and caught fire. While the driver and the other passengers survived with injuries ranging from minor to serious, Tessa tragically lost her life at the scene.

At Park Hill High School, Tessa was known as a dedicated student and a talented athlete. Her hard work earned her multiple honors, including academic scholarships from Northwest Missouri State University, the Park Hill Education Foundation, KC Scholars, and an A+ Scholarship. She had been looking forward to beginning her college journey in the fall, a milestone that now stands as a poignant reminder of the future she deserved.
Beyond academics and athletics, Tessa showed a deep commitment to making a difference. Through Park Hill’s Professional Studies program, she worked with the Midwest Innocence Project, contributing to efforts focused on justice and advocacy.
